Admission Procedure for B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture in Tamil Nadu

Admissions for B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture in Tamil Nadu are conducted through two primary modes:  

a) Merit-based Admission (Tamil Nadu Agricultural University – TNAU Counselling)  

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, is the main authority conducting centralized counseling for agriculture courses in affiliated colleges.  

Students must apply through the TNAU online portal (https://tnau.ac.in) after their 12th-grade board exam results.  

Selection is based on 12th-grade marks, and a rank list is prepared.  

Shortlisted candidates are called for counseling and seat allotment in various agricultural colleges across Tamil Nadu.  

b) Entrance Exam-Based Admission (For Private Universities/Deemed Universities)

Some private and deemed universities conduct their own entrance exams or accept national/state-level entrance scores for admission.  

Candidates need to check the specific university websites for application deadlines and entrance test requirements.

Horticulture

Selection is based on marks obtained in the 12th standard, and a rank list is prepared accordingly.

Shortlisted candidates are invited for counselling, where seats are allotted in horticulture colleges across Tamil Nadu.

b) Entrance Exam-Based Admission (For Private/Deemed Universities)

Some private and deemed universities offer B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture through their own entrance examinations or by accepting national/state-level entrance scores.
